Purveyor of Dreams
Marilue Maris is one of the rare “True Local” Realtors of South Walton and Destin, Florida. She arrived in Florida in the early sixties and has called Northwest Florida home for over 59 years. Her real estate career began in the early 90’s when South Walton and Destin were still finding their niches in the market. “With today’s technology, the entire buying/selling process is much more accurate, efficient and quite honestly, a lot more fun!”
Marilue is a Broker-Associate with the official 30a Team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
Marilue has listed or sold over 2 billion dollars of real estate sales in her 26 years of being an active broker associate in her local market. Marilue believes that Customer Satisfaction and Consumer Advocacy are foremost in keeping long term relationships with customers and clients, and is “most evident” by examining the repeat customers and their loyalty to her.
Marilue lives on a 2 acre wildlife refuge on the Choctawhatchee bay in Freeport with her husband of 42 years and is very active in her community. She served on the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board for Walton County for four years and is the voice of the lakes for the Destination Improvement Committee of the South Walton Tourist Development Council. She is instrumental in making motions and voting for bridges, pedestrian walkways, expanding and improving the Timpochee Multi-Use Trail, participated in the Design Charette Workshops to select park benches, trash and cigarette receptacles, secure funding for the artificial reefs, purchasing properties for public parking, improving the beach accesses, voting to buy more land, buying more beach parcels, improving the guest and local experience with accesses to the bay to paddle at East Mitchell and Kellogg’s Park, and did the review, rewrite and resubmit to the Board of County Commissions for the Chapter 22, the Ordinance that governs activity of the beach.
Marilue is proud to be a Heritage Monitor Scout for the Florida Public Archaeology Network. She monitors climate change and the affects on the private graveyards, all the state parks buildings and Indian sites for protection of cultural resources on the land and underwater for Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
She has an active and fun Facebook page all about things to do in South Walton and the surrounding area. LocalOn30a.com. Surf for fun!
