
Opened by veterans of the local restaurant scene Billy Dee, Chef Giovanni Filippone, and Jerry Zick, Fish On debuted this fall in the former location of Callahan’s in Downtown Destin. With a goal to provide high quality, fresh seafood caught locally in the Gulf of Mexico at an affordable price, Fish On has caught on with locals and visitors alike with its quick service, counter ordering concept.
“Great beachy, bright atmosphere with prompt, friendly service. My group had portobello fries, crab cakes, avocado and crab, and a shrimp basket. Everything was amazing! Perfect for a busy beach town when you want to eat something great, but don’t want to be waiting hours for a table,” said Jamie Johnson in a recent Google review.
Open for lunch and dinner, the Fish On menu features an array of seafood offerings including fresh catch plates prepared four different ways, New Orleans-style shrimp and grits, shrimp, tuna, crab cakes, and more. For non-seafood lovers, find beef tenderloin and burgers along with a few salad options. A kids menu allows even the tiniest of fish fans to enjoy a coastal-style meal.



Dee and Filippone are also known as the owners of Mama Clemenza’s, a popular restaurant in Miramar Beach serving European-style breakfast and brunch dishes. Filippone also gained fame appearing twice on the reality competition cooking show “Hell’s Kitchen”.
